Quick Overview
What is HackWithInfy?
HackWithInfy is Infosys's flagship national-level coding competition designed to identify and recruit top programming talent among engineering students across India. It's one of the biggest opportunities for students from Tier-2 and Tier-3 colleges to get directly hired by Infosys at packages significantly higher than the regular campus placement.
Unlike regular Infosys campus hiring (which offers ā¹3.6 LPA for System Engineer), HackWithInfy winners can bag roles paying ā¹9.5 LPA to ā¹21 LPA ā that's nearly 6x the base package. The competition is completely free to participate in.

How You're Evaluated
Your score depends on: total test cases passed, code efficiency (time & space complexity), and overall score. Partial marks are awarded ā even if you can't solve a problem fully, pass as many test cases as possible. There are both sectional and overall cut-offs.
Final Round: Grand Finale Hackathon
The top 100 scorers from Round 2 are invited to a fully-sponsored, 40-hour live hackathon held at an Infosys campus. Teams of 3ā5 finalists are formed ā you don't need to bring your own team.
What Happens in the Finale?
- Solve a real-world technology case study given by Infosys
- Work in teams (assigned by Infosys) under time pressure
- Mentored and evaluated by Infosys technology experts
- Present your solution to a panel of judges
- Assessed on: innovation, teamwork, code quality, and problem-solving
Interview Round
After Round 2 (all clearers get shortlisted), and the Grand Finale for top 100, shortlisted students undergo a Technical + HR interview. The role and package you get depends entirely on your combined performance.

How to Prepare (W Code Roadmap)
Master Arrays, Strings & Hashing
These are the foundation. Practice pattern-based problems. Aim for 30+ problems.
Practice DSA Problems āDynamic Programming & Greedy
Q2 and Q3 in HackWithInfy are almost always DP or Greedy problems. Learn top-down and bottom-up approaches.
Practice DP Problems āTrees, Graphs & Backtracking
DFS, BFS, shortest path, topological sort. These appear frequently in Q3 (hardest).
Study DSA Theory āMock Tests & Time Management
Practice solving 3 problems in 3 hours. Don't spend more than 30 min on Q1, focus on Q2 & Q3 for higher roles.
Timed Practice āPro Tips from Past Participants
Q1 is always easy (brute force works). Solve it in under 20 minutes and move on.
Q2 is the "make or break" question. It decides whether you get DSE or Specialist Programmer.
Q3 is typically a hard DP/Graph problem. Even partial test cases count ā don't leave it blank.
Code efficiency matters. An O(n²) solution passing 60% test cases scores less than O(n log n) passing 100%.
Practice on Codeforces Div 2 (A, B, C problems) ā the difficulty level is very similar.
For the interview round, revise OS, CN, DBMS thoroughly. They ask conceptual questions, not just coding.
