About the Role
The Globalization team is focused on making learning accessible across languages, regions, and cultures. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute directly to initiatives that support Udemy's international growth.
Rather than observing from the sidelines, you will work on real product features that adapt the platform for diverse global audiences. Guided by a dedicated mentor, you will strengthen your technical skills while gaining experience working within a large scale, production level system.
This internship is well suited for students or recent graduates who are curious, motivated, and passionate about expanding access to education worldwide.
What You Will Do
Build and contribute to full stack projects using React.js or Next.js on the frontend and Java or Kotlin on the backend
Partner with a mentor to understand requirements, design patterns, and system architecture
Write unit and integration tests to meet strong quality standards
Participate in agile processes such as stand ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Engage in peer code reviews to improve both your work and the overall codebase
What We Are Looking For
- •Currently in the third year of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- •Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming
- •Experience with or strong interest in learning JavaScript, React, and backend technologies such as Java
- •Clear communicator who asks thoughtful questions and collaborates effectively
- •Genuine interest in globalization and expanding educational access
